    look up the CAGED …
look up the CAGED method for finding your scales anywhere on the neck. Its really great… its based on the C A G E and D chords, each having a relative minor of the first one…. such as E minor is the relative minor to G, and the G minor is the relative minor to A. For this you need to learn each pentatonic scale form for each chord…. so the CAGEand D scales. once you learn them all, you know the relative minors too…. believe me it will all make sense just google it. or you tube it idk…

  • MikeTheGuy00:

    There’s studying… …
There’s studying…. listening to music is great while playing….

One great thing to train that’s not your fingers are your ears. Train them hard. Some people will have trouble, but it isn’t that easy for ANYONE.

Sing the notes you play in a key. Or vice versa. Sing BEFORE you play the note, etc. etc.

There’s so many perspectives on “practicing”.

Learn some theory… know your fretboard inside and out… use your musical mind… your imagination… look for inspiration. Make music.

  • MikeTheGuy00:

    You know… when …
You know… when you just tell someone to “practice”, you’re probably encouraging a bad habit upon those who wanna know these things to get better.

It’s not JUST practicing… it’s KNOWING what you are practicing. You need to have a target. You gotta shoot at it. And keep going at that target till you can get a bullseye 100 times in a row.

Some people wanna play rhythm good while singing.

What do you do for that? Practice LOADS. Simple.

But when it comes to serious lead, It ain’t just that.
