For years I wondered what that chord at the end of blues songs was, and played it wrong. In this lesson I show you how to find that 9th chord at the end of the song, and 2 licks that you can play right at the end to add a little sugar to the ending.

With blues piano, I love when guys like Jimmy Blythe end on the 9th chord… it’s such a great “up-in-the-air” ending.
Sometimes he even goes one better and suddenly modulates at the ending with no warning at all, ending in a totally different key!
Jimmy Yancey would do that too; no matter what key he was playing the tune in, he would always end in Eb!
Nobody is quite sure why, other than it was his trademark.

And I can tell you from 10 years of using it on my guitars that it’s done no damage to any of them. But I primarily use it for string lubrication, not to clean the fretboard. For that, I use fretboard cleaner

is that fast fret i see on top of your amp? if it is dont use it, im a guitar tech, ill tell you from experience that it ruins fretboards. use boiled linseed oil to clean your fretboard. it really cleans it and brings out the shine and grain of the wood. but only on dark fretboards, not the maple ones.
